You can always turn it around, keep believing

Last night's IPL game between Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab taught us so many lessons. The most important of those was the one taught by Rahul Tewatia. You just need someone to believe in you - if that happens to be your team, there is no reason why you shouldn't believe in yourself. If you hang on long enough, you can only increase your chances to succeed.
It was a massive chase! Sanju Samson, the settled batsman was hitting almost everything out of the ground. As the batsman at the other end, you should either be able to match him stroke for stroke - or the least of it, hand the strike back to the batsman in good nick. Poor Rahul Tewatia was able to do neither. While a part of the social media was having a field day, the other half was feeling sorry for the young man. Good to notice, neither of these groups believed Rahul Tewatia could turn it around. I was thinking what I would do in the same place - possibly fall over on the wicket and get out? A friend of mine said he would call himself injured and walk off the ground.
From 8 off 19 balls to 53 off 31- while taking the team to the cusp of victory, Rahul Tewatia showed what sport and life are all about. You just need to hang on, you just have to believe in yourself, you just need that one moment to turn things around. All is never lost.
Never for a moment think, "What if? How will I face the team when I get out now, after such a poor innings? What will social media say? Will I get another game?". All those thoughts can wait for later, all he looked like thinking was - "Now, this innings, this moment, this chase". He may not do this again in his life, he will have more bad games than good ones in the future. But yesterday, Rahul Tewatia showed everyone what self belief and backing yourself can do. He never gave up when the whole world did. This game will remain long in memory!
